How We Came To Be

The 606 Coffee was born on July 11th, 2018 while attending a pilot AIR: SHIFT Workshop. The program was to inspire and help guide people to solve problems in their community through entrepreneurship and this was the first time the program had been offered to teens.

Since our main goal was to solve a problem, we chose to solve the increasing issue of nothing to do in our town. We wanted to create a space for the people in our community to hang out, get a cup of coffee, and attend special events. We also wanted our business to be Kentucky Proud and keep as many of our products and ingredients local to Southeastern Kentucky by partnering with Kentucky Mountain Coffee Co. & Appalachian Apparel.

Timeline: July 2018 – December 2018

In just 6 short months, The 606 Coffee grew from just an idea to a business with a permanent space downtown and amazing support from the Hazard & Perry County communities. We hope our business grows and continues to serve our community for years to come!
